From our Readers
Hear from some Giblet & Belle’s readers about how they enjoyed the book!
More adventure, more danger, more romance, and a cliffhanger.
Book Two of the Holmes and Watson trilogy is a great read. The cast of characters continues to grow but we still learn more and more of the core people and cats. The plot lines expand and intertwine until only the superb mind of a Holmes can untangle them. Many questions are answered but more are generated and it is going to be hard to wait for Book Three.
Loved Diabolical Daughter
In a change from his previous novels starring a remarkable group of cats and their humans having adventures and solving mysteries along the way, Robert Lay has written a romance wrapped in an exciting tale of modern espionage, murder, skulduggery and police procedure which will test our protagonists’ grit, detective skills, intelligence, character, and devotion to the utmost. The first of a planned trilogy reintroduces the Holmes and Watson, Consulting Detectives several years after their last appearance and just after the agency has been joined by the multi talented Cassidy MacGregor. Readers of the Giblet and Belle novels and stories will recognize all three and, I am sure, they will be as delighted as I was to cheer them on to a new case which will task all of their investigative talents to the utmost. I am looking forward to the next two volumes as I enjoyed this first one enormously.
Holmes & Watson – Okay, when will the second book be out 🙂
Robert, you’ve written another gem! This first story featuring Holmes and Watson certainly met the definition of a “page-turner”. The last half of the book flew by, leaving me eager for the next in the series. Lots of action and unexpected twists, which I love in stories like this. Lots of interesting characters too, both good and bad. And as a big fan of the Jack Higgins books that feature Sean Dillon, I enjoyed the tie-in to the IRA. Keep writing and I will keep buying and reading them.
